Please forgive me for the long delay in adding posts as we have been very busy lately at the ranch. It was just brought to my attention that I had posted the wrong scripture, and thus an unfinished article, as such, was unfortunately posted. Here is the full, quick commentary I wrote a while back on Luke 18:17, not 16. Enjoy.
"Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein. " Luke 18:17
We can see from this passage of scripture that it is the attitude of the heart and the readiness (or eagerness/willingness) of the believer that catches the affection and the heart of our Lord. Those that come to him with humbleness and meekness, not assuming or relying upon their own strengths, value or earthly positions are the ones that truly receive the blessings and fullness of his presence and thus real authority in his kingdom as their reward. Those that presume to be able to understand and teach principals about a kingdom that their eyes have never seen by using only their natural human reasoning, intellect and capabilities indeed have much to learn. Thus, those that come to God with a puffed up inward state — whether in the heart or in the mind, no matter how outwardly pious and sincere, will go away quite unchanged and as earthly as they were before.
